They feel solid and the vinyl coating hasn't chipped yet. The handle is smooth but could be more ergonomic for longer workouts. The 50 lb total is a good start for most home users. However, the jump from 15 to 20 is small; I wish they included a 25 instead. Still, for the price, it's a convenient way to build a set.
